Car scams increase 74% in 2023

 Car and van scams surged 74 percent in the first half of 2023 with victims losing £998 on average in vehicle–related scams, according to new research from Lloyds Bank.

Lloyds said aged between 25 and 34 being the most likely age group to report being duped by scam vehicle ads.

Always be wary and if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!

Tips to spot fake adverts:

·         View the item in person.

·         Avoid bank transfers.

·         Be suspicious of low prices.
