Pension Scams

Pension Scams:

In conjunction with the Financial Conduct Authority, the TPR (The Pensions Regulator) published four ways individuals could help protect themselves against scammers.

1.      Reject Unexpected Offers – If you have been contacted with regards to your pension out of the blue from individuals claiming to be product providers, withhold your personal information.

2.      Check who you are dealing with – It is always good to get a name while in contact with providers, that way you can establish if they work for the company when you call back.

3.      Do not be rushed or pressured – Most if not all product providers are very patient, because they are employed to be this way. You should never feel rushed or stressed to pass over information.

4.      Get impartial information and advice – Never hesitate to get into contact with your financial adviser, relatives or friends who may have experience/expertise in this area.
